In addition to conferences, Centro de Conferencias also arranges shorter events for groups of visitors. The programs for such events vary according to the interests of the group. Examples of such visits are:

A general tour where the guests are shown around the Conference Center, learn about Jan Utzon’s architecture and Lin Utzon’s artwork, admire and learn about the Zimbabwean sculptures that adorn its colonnades and the center’s sculpture garden, and visit the center’s collection of indigenous Mexican arts and crafts.

The general tour may be followed by one or more smaller tours to see and learn about other features of the center:

  • The observatory, where guests are shown how the tower opens and rotates to an area of the night sky, where a 16-inch telescope is used to make observations.
  • The Conference Center’s energy system, with its 600 m2 array of solar panels and inverters, and the energy house containing transformers, batteries and auxiliary generators.
  • The center’s organic farm with vegetable production, greenhouse, nursery, fruit orchard, broilers, egg layers, goats, sheep, cows, and dairy and meat processing facility.

The center has also had the great pleasure of welcoming larger groups on two occasions when Jan Utzon, the architect of the Conference Center, was present. Each time, Jan Utzon gave the visitors an extensive walking tour and lecture on the buildings’ architecture and their construction: explaining his ideas behind the creation of the different buildings and the complex as a whole, pointing out architectural features and details and their purpose, and telling about how unique features of the buildings were constructed.

The annual Posada is a highlight of the year. On this day, staff members and their families, neighbors, friends and business acquaintances of Centro de Conferencias are invited for a whole day’s fiesta, with more than 500 visitors of all ages; children, youths, parents, and grandparents.

The day starts with coffee and a welcome in Assembly Hall. There is a Paseo, where everyone is organized in groups and seek out posts with things to learn about and do, with themes like Nature and the Environment, Art and Science, Health, or a Treasure Hunt about the world. There is a hearty, home-cooked lunch, piñatas, and a program of entertainment that varies from year to year. While darkness falls, and after coffee, bingo and prizes, it is time for the guests to travel home.

The Posada is a day to remember for everyone who participates in it, and it is also a day when all the people who are a part of making the activities at Centro de Conferencia happen meet and celebrate the year’s accomplishment.

The epidemic, Covid-19, temporarily put an end to these events in 2020. As soon as it is deemed safe, the center is eager to resume them.
