Ensenada is a port city on the Pacific coast of the Baja California peninsula. Thousands of people visit Ensenada each year to enjoy the ocean, the climate and the city’s many attractions.
Some of the things to enjoy in Ensenada are:
La Bufadora Blowhole
La Bufadora is situated south of Ensenada, and it is the world’s second largest blowhole.
The seawater, when pressed in through the blowhole, can spout up to 100 feet into the air, making a loud roaring noise and a wide spray of water.
Calle Primera in Ensenada
First Street, or Avenida Adolfo López Mateos, is a part of Ensenada’s traditional tourist zone.
The street is busy and colorful with an abundance of cafés and small shops selling street food, Mexican traditional handicraft, clothes, boots and silverware.
The History Museum
The History Museum exhibits the regional history of Baja California. Its seven exhibition rooms showcase the evolution of the peninsula from its first settlers in the paleolithic era and up to modern times.
Valle de Guadalupe
Valle de Guadalupe is a popular tourist destination, known for its wineries and Baja Mediterranean cuisine. It is located 20 kilometers north of Ensenada.
The Fish Market
The colorful fish market is situated at the port Malecon.
Here one can get fresh seafood such as clams, sea urchins, snails, scallops and shrimps – not to forget a variety of fish, including bluefin and yellowfin tuna.
The fresh seafood tacos, Mexican style, are legendary treats.
